Student-Athlete Service Council

The Student-Athlete Service Council (SASC) supports and coordinates service opportunities for Princeton student-athletes. SASC provides volunteer opportunities throughout the year to accommodate the busy schedules of student-athletes.

As President of the council from 2023 to 2025, I have successfully organized and planned dozens of events, helping the council grow from 18 to 30 members, now representing 18 different varsity sports.

On a monthly basis, SASC members participate in specific community service activities... such as writing gratitude letters to veterans, making blankets for children in local hospitals, and painting pumpkins pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Four times each semester, the service council organizes reading sessions with local elementary schools, where we read to students from kindergarten through fifth grade.

In 2023 the Reading with the Tigers program visited 52 classrooms at five elementary schools. 60 student-athletes from 16 different teams participated.

I increase engagement through flyers for our events to ensure the Princeton athletic community remains informed and involved in our organization’s activities.

I leverage social media to post upcoming events and event recaps. It’s a great way to raise awareness about the impactful work student-athletes are doing in the community.

2024 Fall Youth Sports Clinic: Before our home opener football game, over 100 student-athletes came together to led a variety of sports stations, creating an afternoon of fun and games for hundreds of kids and families.

Biweekly, we volunteer with the Princeton Mobile Food Pantry, packing and preparing deliveries of fresh, culturally relevant groceries. In 2023, we packed more than 1,000 meals for 800 individuals.
