Wellness in The Schools

Summer 2023 

During my time with Wellness in the Schools, a national nonprofit dedicated to promoting healthy habits among public school students, I gained valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic, growing organization. My role involved a variety of tasks, including school visits throughout NYC, researching grants, and generating reports in Salesforce. I also contributed to preparing grant proposals, quarterly newsletters, and website updates.

Through working on social media strategies, I saw firsthand how effective digital outreach can drive engagement. Weekly team meetings provided a broader perspective on how each role contributes to the overall mission, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and cross-departmental collaboration. This experience strengthened my communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills, while deepening my understanding of the significant impact nonprofits can have on communities.
